The Festival in 2012 was moved to the early June to coincide with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
On Saturday June 2nd there was a Jubilee Fun Day with 8 hours of free open air entertainment followed in the evening by ‘Picnic on the Prom’ – a chance to bring a picnic to eat and listen to New Forest Brass Band on the performance area on Hythe’s Promenade with glorious views over Southampton Water.
The highlight of the Festival was the Waterside Ukulele Jam who performed all day.
They sang and played 60 songs from the 60 years of the Queen’s reign.
The Festival continued on the following Wednesday when Cavalier Jazzmen gave an open air concert in the public gardens behind The Grove.
