Wednesday 4th July, 7.30pm All Saints’ Church, Dibden – Music in the Church
Southampton Brass Ensemble is a brass quintet whose music ranges from traditional jazz through to light classical and a little baroque. For tonight’s concert in the beautiful surroundings of All Saints’ Church, Dibden, they are joined by singing group The Songbirds, who are a local four voice ensemble with a piano accompaniment. Their programme encompasses ballads, swing, musical numbers and some lovely classical pieces.
Thursday 5th July, 7.30pm Cornerstone Church, Atheling Road, Hythe – Doodle Cats & Friends
Following their success at last year’s festival, The Doodle Cats are back; this time for a whole evening in Cornerstone Church. They are a local 7-piece swing band who perform music from the 40’s as well as more modern pieces.
The evening will also feature music from some of the band members’ smaller ensembles.
Friday 6th July, 7.30pm – The Grove Gardens, St John’s Street, Hythe
Cavalier Jazzmen are back for another open-air concert in the gardens behind The Grove (Hythe’s Parish Council Offices). Come and listen to the band play and sing their own inimitable style of jazz music. Bring your own chair to sit on and a picnic supper to eat while you listen to the music.
Note – St John’s car park is now closed. Also, there is no public parking in Sir Christopher Court or at The Grove.
