The Festival came to an end on Sunday 17th July with 2 events on the performance area at the end of The Promenade – a Worship Service in the morning and a brass band concert in the afternoon.
Churches Together – In the morning, Cornerstone URC and St John’s churches came together for an open Worship Service, led by Rev. Eddie Boon. A large number of people enjoyed the brilliant sunshine for a friendly service. Lasting for about an hour it gave a chance for everyone to join in the different styles of worship that the two churches provide. This was the second time Waterside Arts has staged this event and everyone agreed it should become a regular part of future Festivals.
New Forest Brass Band brought this years Festival to a close. These Festival regulars played songs from the shows, light classics and had a surprise or two for the large audience seated all round the amphitheatre at the end of The Promende. The music was also enjoyed by those in the garden of The Nelson pub, which backs on to the performance area and everyone agreed it was an ideal venue with views out over Southampton Water.
