Following the Family Fun Day in Hythe, the open air entertainment continued into the evening, The audience sat around the small amphitheatre performance area at the end of The Promenade. First on was Nuffield Youth Theatre who presented a though performing piece called ‘No Borders’ about those coming to live in Great Britian from abroad. It included a quiz, no-one in the audience got all the answers right and were surprised to hear they were all taken from the British Citizenship Test!
The second half of the evening was provided by two very different music groups – first was Twangdillo – a three piece, close harmony, vocal and ukulele group who perform who play cover versions of popular songs, as well as their own material. In a first for Waterside Arts, part of their performance was streamed live on You Tube. They were followed by the 3 piece rock and blues band, Chameleon – recently reformed with a new line up led by their founder Gary Murphy.
