Festival 2017

The 2017 Festival will be over the weekend of July 14th to 16th in Hythe Village.  Some of the well loved regulars will be back but the Family Fun Day on Saturday July 15th will have a completely new look to it. Once again thanks to our sponsors all the events will be free to attend.  There’s still a chance for extra performers in the village on the Saurday, so if you want to be part of the Festival contact us.

FRIDAY July 14th – Cavalier Jazzmen – 7.30pm in the gardens behind The Grove (Parish Offices) in St John’s Street.
Bring a chair and a picnic to enjoy traditional Jazz at its best from these Festival Regulars.

SATURDAY July 15th –  Family Fun at the Seaside on Hythe’s Promenade starting at 10.00am.  Puppets, dancers, singers, music, Punch & Judy, face-painting, street entertainers, craft activities and much more, all day, all free.  Children can take part in the shop window treasure hunt.                       3pm sees Mortimer Sparks with a show for the Children while 6pm is open air theatre from Point Youth Theatre. The music starts at 7pm with the ‘Blast Drummers’ and the ‘Doodle Cats’.

SUNDAY July 16th – Festival Worship Service 11.00am On The Promenade.                                                                                                                Hythe Churches come together for an open air service led by the Rev Eddie Boon from Cornerstone URC Church.

SUNDAY July 16th – New Forest Brass Band – 2.30pm on The Promenade                                                                                                                     Brass Band Music at it’s best from this well know local band. During their break be entertained by dancers from DanceWise Studio.

FESTIVAL FRINGE – Other events and attractions as part of the Festival Fringe will be taking part over the week end; including an exhibition at The Grove entitled ‘Gardens from Capabilty Brown in the Area; creative writing and drawing workshops at Hythe Library, along with the launch of their Children’s Summer Reading Challenge – ‘Animal Agents’; special attractions at many shops and much more.
